Our Mission

Our mission is to protect the charm and historical character of Ocean Springs. We advocate for public policies that prioritize the interests of residents, including responsible development and fair taxation. We hold public officials accountable and educate the community on issues that impact the unique identity and livability of our city. We do not support excessive development and unreasonable ordinances including:

• The commercialization of Front Beach including the Front Beach Marina and Event Center
• The Urban Renewal Plan (URP) in any form with its Redevelopment Authority (RDA) and use of eminent domain against residents
• Using the recently approved Planned Unit Development (PUD) ordinance to bypass protections for residential areas
• Expanding encroachment of short term rentals into neighborhoods
• Expanding the noisy and overcrowded downtown "entertainment" district

SaveOS is a nonprofit social welfare organization organized under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions or gifts to SaveOS are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. SaveOS may engage in advocacy and lobbying consistent with its mission to promote accountable local government.
